We are now seeking an experienced and commercially focused Branch Manager to lead our Blackpool branch, ensuring exceptional customer service, strong financial performance, and a safe, efficient working environment.
The Role
As Branch Manager of Cork Builder Providers' Blackpool Branch, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the branch.
You will lead and develop a large team, drive sales growth, optimise operational efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of customer experience, compliance, and profitability.
This is a key leadership role requiring a dynamic individual with strong commercial acumen, people management skills, and operational expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop branch colleagues to achieve business objectives.
- Create a positive, high-performance culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and customer service.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures.
Commercial & Sales Performance
- Deliver branch sales, margin, and profitability targets.
- Identify opportunities to grow market share and develop new business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to maximise commercial opportunities.
- Drive customer retention and service excellence across all departments.
Operations Management
- Oversee all branch operations, ensuring efficient stock management and product availability.
- Manage budgets, costs, and branch resources effectively.
- Ensure smooth coordination between sales, yard, warehouse, transport, and administration functions.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, merchandising, and presentation across the site.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong health and safety culture throughout the branch.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Manage risk assessments, audits, and corrective actions.
- Maintain high standards of security, stock control, and loss prevention.
Customer Experience
- Ensure customers receive outstanding service at every touchpoint.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Drive a customer-first culture across all teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with both trade and retail customers.
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in a Branch Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager, or similar senior management role.
- Experience within builders merchants, construction supplies, retail, distribution, manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering sales and profit growth.
- Excellent people management and team development skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Financial and operational management experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Results-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Full-Time (39 Hours per Week)
- Monday to Friday, with flexibility to participate in Saturday trading rotas where required
